Samantha Baines is the author of five critically acclaimed books, all centred around deafness and hearing loss. She uses her own deaf experience and humour to inform her writing.

 

Her award-winning debut children's fiction Harriet Versus the Galaxy was optioned for TV, listed in the Best Books of the Year in the ipaper and is a Teacher's Pick on Amazon. Her second book for Bloomsbury education, was longlisted for the Adrien Prize. Samantha's first non-fiction title Living With Hearing Loss and Deafness (published by Headline) was a number 1 bestseller in it's Amazon category and has been featured in The Telegraph, Stylist Magazine, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2 and Metro. Author Adam Kay called it "highly informative, told with warmth and humour". Samantha's new children's fiction series The Deaf Detectives is published in 2027. The first book in the series is now available to pre-order.

 

A lover of poetry Samantha also published a comedy poetry collection called POENTRY. Her poem was also included in the anthology What Meets The Eye by Arachne Press.
